Remove the lighter insert from the case. Lift the felt pad at the bottom to reveal the packing material. Slowly saturate the packing with Zippo Lighter Fluid until it reaches the top of the packing. Do not overfill. Wipe the lighter and your hands dry before igniting.

Zippo windproof pocket lighters are backed by the famous 'It works or we fix it free' guarantee. If your lighter mechanicals fail, Zippo will repair it free of charge, regardless of age or condition. The finish is not guaranteed.

When the wick becomes black from carbon, pull it up with tweezers until a clean wick appears (approx. 1 cm), then trim the end so it is even with the chimney height. Perform this 1 or 2 times a year.
