DIP4 for managing connection on the LS line - OFF external unit present on the LS section (default)
- ON external unit not present on the LS line (the power supply unit Art. 1209 or Art. 1210/1210A is required)
If there is no secondary external unit, set DIP4 to ON
4. Terminals M1
LM LM riser Bus line output
LS LS secondary Bus line input normally switched to LM LM (with DIP4 of S3 set to OFF) or power supply input Art.
1209/1210/1210A (with DIP4 of S3 set to ON)
LPin LPin main Bus line input (normally open on LM LM)
LPout LPout main Bus line output for cascade distribution
5. JP1 video closing jumper.
in position A for all Art. 1404 if the system configuration is star.
in position A only for the last Art. 1404 if the system configuration is cascade.
in position B in all other cases.
Art. 1404 must be wired with Art. 1209/1210/1210A or from the output of the mixer Art. 4888C.
The maximum number of switchings Art. 1404 connectable to Art. 1210/1210A or to Art. 4888C is 40 units.
Betjening og programmering
The switching Art. 1404 provides 3 operating modes, the mode must be chosen according to the type and position of the switching in the system itself:
STANDARD (to be used in systems that require the addition of supplementary external units)
TOP 1 (single zone switching in systems without porter switchboard or with a single porter switchboard)
TOP 3 (multi-zone switching).
Standardtilstand (standard)
To set the STANDARD mode:
1. Set DIP1 and DIP2 of S3 to OFF.
2. Define the range of codes managed by each riser
S1 defines the minimum value MIN of the range (according to the “Dip switch programming table and S3 setting” a pagina 7).
S2 defines the maximum value MAX of the range (according to the “Dip switch programming table and S3 setting” a pagina 7).
CAUTION! Distinct switching devices must manage non-overlapping code ranges
TOP 1 mode
To set TOP 1 mode:
1. Set the DIPs of S3 as follows: DIP1-ON and DIP2-OFF.
2. Define the area of the system (called ZONE), via S1 and DIP3 of S3:
S1 defines the address (according to the “Dip switch programming table and S3 setting” a pagina 7).
The address is a number between 1 and 500 and cannot be a range.
The DIP3 of S3 defines the managed zone addresses:
- OFF for zone addresses from 1 to 250 (default)
- ON for zone addresses from 251 to 500
On the LM-LM output of each switching up to 240 users and accessories can be wired; NOT the porter switchboard
On the LS-LS input of the switching, external units in STANDARD mode and accessories can be wired.
On the LPin-LPin input, external units wired directly or indirectly via mixer art. 4888C must be set to TOP mode. A single
porter switchboard can be installed in SERIES or PARALLEL mode
It is NOT possible to manage self activation towards external units wired to the LPin-LPin input of the switching device.
CAUTION! In the same system, there cannot be 2 switching devices with the same ZONE address.
TOP 3 mode
To set TOP 3 mode:
1. Set the DIPs of S3 as follows: DIP1-OFF and DIP2-ON.
2. Define the range of ZONES managed by the switching, via S1, S2 and DIP3 of S3:
S1 defines the minimum value MIN of the range (according to the “Dip switch programming table and S3 setting” a pagina
7). S2 defines the maximum value MAX of the range (according to the “Dip switch programming table and S3 setting” a pagina
7). The DIP3 of S3 defines the managed zone addresses:
• OFF for zone addresses from 1 to 250 (default)
• ON for zone addresses from 251 to 500
The switching in TOP 3 mode manages the ZONES included in the set range.
The range can be EXTENDED (from 1 to 500 by setting the dips of S1 to OFF, the dips of S2 to ON, and DIP 3 of S3 to OFF) or LIMITED but only in the intervals between 1 and 250 (by setting MIN range on S1, MAX range on S2, and DIP 3 of S3 to OFF) or from 251 to 500 (by setting MIN range on S1, MAX range on S2, and DIP 3 of S3 to ON).
Only external units in TOP mode can be wired to the TOP 3 switching.
It is NOT possible to manage self activation towards doors wired to the LPin-LPin input of the switching.
CAUTION! Distinct switchings must manage non-overlapping code ranges.
Special programming
For each of the previous 4 modes it is also possible to:
- the cascade distribution of the Bus line f JP1 must be left in position A exclusively on the last switching.
- the management of the connection on the LS line useful for distributing the video signal in cascade on TOP systems, even without the need to have one or more secondary external units.
f In the absence of a secondary external unit, set DIP4 of S3 to ON and provide power supply on LS via Art. 1209 or 1210/1210A.
