If a Savaria stairlift (such as the Stairfriend) beeps continuously for about 20 seconds while not moving, it means the unit is not charging. Check that your lift is properly parked at the top or bottom charging contact and that the wall charger is plugged in.
In the event of an emergency or power loss, remove the cap and insert the provided hand crank. Turn the crank to smoothly lower the platform to a landing, then remove the crank and replace the cap. Do not leave the lift unattended while using the emergency lowering function.
