It is recommended to use high-quality vacuum pump oil. If your pump fails to pull down to at least 50 microns, the oil is likely contaminated and should be changed immediately.
Oil should be changed if the pump cannot reach the desired deep vacuum (50 microns). For best performance, check the oil quality before every job and change it if it appears cloudy or contaminated with moisture.
