Follow these steps to set up your ClariMate for the first time:

1. Attach ClariMate to Clarinet: Carefully attach the ClariMate module to your Bb clarinet. Ensure it is securely fitted.

3. Connect to Computer (First Use & Firmware Update):
   • Use the included USB-C to USB-A cable to connect the ClariMate directly to your computer's USB port. Avoid using docking stations or USB hubs for initial setup to prevent connection issues.
   • Download and install the dedicated ClariMate app for your operating system (Windows or MacOS) from the official Buffet Crampon webwebsted.
   • Launch the ClariMate app. The app will guide you through any necessary firmware updates. It is crucial to update the firmware to the latest version for optimal performance. If connection issues occur, try putting the device in "safe" mode and updating firmware from a local directory within the app, navigating to the Buffet-Crampon directory > ClariMate App > Firmware.
4. App-integration: Once connected, the app allows for seamless integration and customization of settings.
5. Kalibrering: Utilize the 'training' function within the ClariMate app to calibrate the device to your playing style. This includes adjusting breath pressure and reed calibration if using the Active Reeds.
6. Tilslut hovedtelefoner: Plug your wired headphones or earbuds into the 1/8” audio jack on the ClariMate module. Bluetooth headphones are not supported for audio output from the ClariMate itself.

The ClariMate offers various modes of operation:

• Silent Practice Mode: With headphones connected, you can practice your clarinet silently. The ClariMate's breath sensor detects your fingerings and breath, generating digital audio feedback (MIDI) that you hear through your headphones. You do not need to blow air through the clarinet itself for the ClariMate to sense fingerings.
• MIDI Controller Mode (USB/Bluetooth):
  • USB-forbindelse: Connect the ClariMate to your computer via USB-C. It will function as a MIDI controller, allowing you to use it with Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) or notation software for composition and recording.
  • Bluetooth-forbindelse: Pair the ClariMate with your computer, tablet, or smartphone via Bluetooth. This connection is primarily for using the ClariMate app and for MIDI data transmission to compatible software. • Bluetooth Playalong Mode: Use this mode to play along with backing tracks or music from streaming services. This requires connecting your playback device (e.g., phone, tablet) to your headphones, possibly using a Y-cable if you want to mix the ClariMate's audio output with your playback device's audio.
• Transponering: The dedicated app allows you to transpose the output to different keys, making it easy to practice repertoire for A, Eb, or bass clarinet without needing different instruments.

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your ClariMate:

• Rensning: Gently wipe the ClariMate module with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Active Reeds: The included Active Reeds are designed for use with the ClariMate. If you use your own reeds, ensure they are compatible and calibrate them within the app for best results.
• Opbevaring: When not in use, store the ClariMate in its premium travel case to protect it from dust and physical damage.
• O-ringe: Periodically check the synthetic cork O-rings for wear and tear. Replace them with the included spares as needed to maintain a secure fit on your clarinet.
