1. Introduktion
The EDELRID Pinch is a versatile assisted braking belay device designed for use in sport climbing, multi-pitch climbing, and various rope access techniques. It offers a new belaying experience by being the first device on the market that can be attached directly to the central ring of a climbing harness. Its low, close-to-the-body position eliminates the need for manual fixation when releasing the rope, allowing the brake rope to be consistently gripped with all fingers.

2. Generelle sikkerhedsinstruktioner

3. Opsætning
3.1 Attaching to Harness
The EDELRID Pinch is designed to attach directly to the central belay loop of your climbing harness. Ensure the device is oriented correctly with the rope path indicators facing the appropriate direction (climber side vs. brake hand side).

3.2 Rope Insertion
- Open the device by rotating the side plate.
- Insert the rope according to the engraved diagrams on the device. The rope leading to the climber should exit the device on the side indicated by the climber icon, and the brake rope should exit on the side indicated by the brake hand icon.
- Close the side plate securely until it clicks into place.
- Attach a locking carabiner through the designated attachment point on the Pinch and your harness belay loop. Ensure the carabiner is locked.

4. Betjeningsvejledning
4.1 Belaying
The EDELRID Pinch provides assisted braking. Always keep your brake hand on the brake rope. To take in slack, pull the brake rope downwards while simultaneously feeding the rope from the climber's side through the device. To give slack, push the rope from the climber's side through the device while maintaining control with your brake hand.

4.2 Holding a Fall
In the event of a fall, the assisted braking mechanism of the Pinch will engage, increasing friction on the rope to help arrest the fall. Immediately tighten your grip on the brake rope and pull it downwards to fully engage the braking action. Never let go of the brake rope.
4.3 Lowering a Climber
To lower a climber, maintain a firm grip on the brake rope with your brake hand. Gradually release the brake rope by gently lifting the device or applying controlled pressure to the release lever (if present and applicable to the specific model's design, refer to specific markings). Control the descent speed by adjusting the tension on the brake rope. Always keep your brake hand on the rope.
