2. Opsætning

2.1 Udpakning og inspektion

Carefully remove the Solina String Ensemble from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage that may have occurred during transit. Retain the original packaging for future transport or storage.

2.2 Strømtilslutning

Connect the supplied power adapter to the DC INPUT jack on the rear panel of the Solina String Ensemble. Plug the other end of the adapter into a suitable power outlet. Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position before connecting power.

2.3 Lydforbindelser

Connect the AUDIO OUT jack (mono 1/4" TS) on the rear panel to your mixer, audio interface, or amplifier. For headphone monitoring, use the AUDIO OUT/PHONES 1/4" TRS jack on the front panel.

2.4 MIDI- og USB-forbindelser

For MIDI control, connect a MIDI cable from your MIDI controller's MIDI OUT to the Solina's MIDI IN (5-pin DIN) on the front panel. The MIDI THRU port on the rear panel allows you to pass MIDI data to other devices. For computer connectivity and firmware updates, use a USB Type B cable to connect the unit to your computer.

The Solina String Ensemble can also be integrated into a Eurorack system. Refer to the Eurorack mounting instructions if you plan to install it in a modular setup.

3. Operating the Solina String Ensemble

TUNE Knob: Adjusts the overall pitch of the instrument.
Tone Section Buttons (Contrabass, Cello, Viola, Violin, Trumpet, Horn): Activate or deactivate individual instrument voices. Multiple voices can be active simultaneously to create layered sounds.
VOLUME BASS Slider: Controls the volume of the Contrabass and Cello sections.
CRESCENDO Slider: Adjusts the attack time of the notes, from immediate to slow swell.
SUSTAIN LENGTH Slider: Controls the release time of the notes, from short to long sustain.
VOLUME Slider: Controls the overall output volume of the instrument.
MODULATION Button: Activates the built-in BBD chorus ensemble effect, providing the classic Solina swirling sound.

3.2 External Control Inputs/Outputs

The Solina String Ensemble offers various jacks for integration with other modular or external gear:

MOD IN/OUT: Connect external modulation sources or route the internal modulation signal.
PHASER IN/OUT: Integrate external effects into the phaser circuit or use the phaser as a standalone effect.
VCA CV IN: Control the VCA (Voltage Kontrolleret Amplifier) with an external control voltage.
TRIG OUT / GATE OUT: Output trigger and gate signals for synchronization with other equipment.

4. Vedligeholdelse

4.1 Rengøring

To clean the unit, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents, as these may damage the finish. Ensure the unit is powered off and disconnected from all cables before cleaning.

When not in use for extended periods, store the Solina String Ensemble in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. It is recommended to use the original packaging for storage to protect the unit.

- If using MIDI, ensure your MIDI controller is sending notes and the Solina is receiving them on the correct MIDI channel.

- Check MIDI cable connections.
- Ensure the MIDI channel settings on your controller match the Solina's MIDI channel (refer to the rear panel DIP switches for channel selection).
- Verify that the MIDI controller is sending MIDI Note On/Off messages.
Unusual Noise or Distortion:
