Opsætning og montering
Before operating the sander, ensure it is properly assembled and secured. The Scheppach BTS900 is designed for stability with its cast iron housing.
1. Udpakning og inspektion
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any damage that may have occurred during transit. Report any damage to your supplier immediately.
2. Securing the Sander
Place the sander on a stable, level workbench. The cast iron housing provides inherent stability, but for prolonged or heavy use, it is recommended to bolt the unit to the workbench using appropriate fasteners (not included).

3. Attaching the Work Table
Attach the work table to the disc sander side. Ensure it is securely fastened. The table can be tilted from 0-45° and is equipped with a scale for precise angle adjustments.

Figur 2: Et nærbillede view of the disc sanding area, showing the adjustable work table and the disc abrasive. The table allows for precise angle adjustments for various sanding tasks.
4. Installing Abrasives
Disc Abrasives: The discs are designed for easy attachment thanks to their hook and loop coating. Simply align the new disc with the sanding plate and press firmly.
Belt Abrasives: To install or replace the sanding belt, release the tensioning lever (refer to the diagram on the machine for location). Slide the old belt off and slide the new belt on, ensuring the directional arrow on the belt matches the arrow on the machine. Re-engage the tensioning lever.

Betjeningsvejledning
The Scheppach BTS900 features a powerful, quiet, and efficient induction motor for consistent performance.
1. Strømtilslutning
Connect the sander to a standard 230-volt power outlet. Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position before plugging in.
2. Adjusting the Belt Sander Arm
The arm supporting the sanding belt can be positioned at an angle from 0-90°, allowing for both vertical and horizontal sanding operations. Loosen the locking knob, adjust the arm to the desired angle, and then securely tighten the knob.

Figur 4: This image demonstrates the versatility of the belt sander arm, showing it adjusted to various angles from horizontal to vertical, allowing for flexible sanding applications.
3. Adjusting the Disc Sander Work Table
The sanding table for the disc can be tilted from 0-45°. Use the angle scale for precise adjustments. Loosen the locking mechanism, set the desired angle, and re-tighten.

Figur 5: The disc sander's work table is shown tilted, illustrating its capability for angled sanding tasks. This feature enhances precision for various woodworking projects.
4. Slibeoperation
Turn on the sander using the green power button. Allow the belt and disc to reach full speed before applying the workpiece.
Båndslibning: Gently apply the workpiece to the moving belt. Use even pressure and move the workpiece consistently across the belt for uniform results.
Skiveslibning: For disc sanding, apply the workpiece to the side of the disc that is moving downwards towards the table. This helps to prevent the workpiece from being thrown upwards.
Always ensure the workpiece is stable and held firmly. Do not apply excessive pressure, as this can overload the motor and reduce sanding efficiency.

Figur 6: A user is shown operating the disc sander, carefully sanding a small wooden piece. This illustrates proper technique for disc sanding, emphasizing control and precision.

Figur 7: This image depicts a user utilizing the belt sander in its vertical orientation, sanding a longer piece of wood. It highlights the flexibility of the adjustable belt arm for different workpiece sizes and shapes.
Opretholdelse
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Scheppach BTS900 sander.
1. Rensning
After each use, disconnect the power and clean the machine. Remove dust and debris from the sanding areas, motor vents, and work tables. A vacuum cleaner or compressed air can be used. Ensure all dust collection ports are clear.
2. Abrasive Replacement
Replace sanding belts and discs when they become worn or lose their abrasive quality. Refer to the "Setup and Assembly" section for instructions on changing abrasives.
3. Generelt eftersyn
Periodically check all fasteners for tightness. Inspect the power cord for any signs of damage. If any part is damaged, have it repaired by a qualified service technician before further use.
