Opsætning
The Petromax 226-500m Rapid Preheater is designed for permanent mounting. Ensure your lantern is cool and depressurized before beginning any installation or maintenance.
- Depressurize Lantern: Ensure the lantern is completely depressurized by opening the air screw on the pump.
- Remove Top Parts: Carefully remove the top parts of the lantern, including the hood, inner casing, and glass cylinder, to access the burner assembly.
- Locate Preheater Position: Identify the designated mounting point for the rapid preheater on the lantern's base or frame, typically near the carburetor.
- Install Preheater: Screw the 226-500m Rapid Preheater into its designated position. Ensure it is securely tightened to prevent leaks.

Operating the Rapid Preheater
The rapid preheater is used to quickly bring the carburetor to operating temperature, allowing for a smooth and efficient start-up of your Petromax lantern.

- Preheat Duration: Allow the preheater to burn for approximately 60-90 seconds, or until the mantle begins to glow faintly. This indicates the carburetor has reached sufficient temperature.
- Close Preheater Valve: Once preheating is complete, close the rapid preheater valve.
- Light Lantern: Slowly open the main fuel valve of the lantern. The mantle should ignite and glow brightly. If not, repeat the preheating process.
