Setup and Loading
1. Unboxing the Film
The film comes in a small box. Inside, the film canister is protected by a plastic container. A small paper tab from the box can be torn off and used as a reminder of the film type and speed.
2. Loading Film into an Automatic Camera
- Åbn kameraets bagdæksel.
- Insert the film canister into the film chamber on the left side of the camera.
- Pull the film leader across to the take-up spool on the right. Ensure the film perforations engage with the sprockets.
- Align the film leader with any orange index mark if present.
- Close the camera back. The camera should automatically advance the film to the first frame.
3. Loading Film into a Manual Camera
- Lift the film rewind knob to open the camera's back cover.
- Insert the film canister into the film chamber.
- Pull the film leader across and insert it into a slot on the take-up spool.
- Rotate the take-up spool slightly to ensure the film is securely attached and the perforations engage with the sprockets.
- Close the camera back.
- Advance the film using the film advance lever and press the shutter button a couple of times until the frame counter shows "1".
4. Setting ISO (Film Speed)
Fujifilm Neopan 100 Acros II has an ISO (or ASA) speed of 100. It is crucial to set your camera's ISO dial to 100 to ensure correct exposure metering. If your camera uses DX coding, it may automatically detect the film speed.
Operating Instructions and Tips
For optimal results with Neopan 100 Acros II, consider the following:
- Eksponering: This film performs well when exposed at its box speed (ISO 100). For scenes with high contrast, exposing for the shadows can help retain detail in both shadows and highlights due to the film's wide latitude.
- Belysning: Acros II excels in various lighting conditions, offering excellent detail in both bright highlights and deep shadows.
- Udvikling: Consult your film developer's instructions for recommended development times and temperatures for ISO 100 black and white film.
Vedligeholdelse og opbevaring
- Unexposed Film: Store unexposed film in a cool, dry place, ideally in its original packaging, away from direct sunlight and heat. Refrigeration (not freezing) can extend shelf life.
- Exposed Film: Develop exposed film as soon as possible. If immediate development is not possible, store exposed rolls in a cool, dark, and dry environment to prevent latent image degradation.
- Håndtering: Always handle film in subdued light or darkness when loading/unloading to prevent fogging. Avoid touching the film surface directly to prevent fingerprints or scratches.
Fejlfinding af almindelige problemer
- Blank Film: If your film comes back blank after development, it likely indicates a severe exposure issue (e.g., camera shutter not firing, film not advancing, or film loaded incorrectly in bright light).
- Overexposed/Underexposed Images: Check your camera's ISO setting and light meter. Ensure they are correctly calibrated for ISO 100 film.
- Scratches/Dust: Handle film carefully during loading and unloading. Ensure your camera's film path is clean.
- Lyslækager: Inspect your camera's light seals for wear. Ensure the camera back is securely closed.
