1. Introduktion

The Notifier FDRM-1 is a dual relay and monitor module designed for integration into compatible fire alarm control panels. This module provides two independent Form-C relay contacts and two independent initiating device circuits (IDCs) for monitoring various devices. 2. Opsætning og installation

2.1 Montering

2.2 Ledningsføring

Connect wiring to the screw terminals as indicated on the module and in the system's design documentation. The module features terminals for two independent relay outputs and two independent monitoring inputs.

• Relay Outputs (Relay 1 & Relay 2): Each relay provides Normally Open (N.O.), Normally Closed (N.C.), and Common (COM) contacts. Connect external devices requiring activation (e.g., door holders, fan shutdowns) to these terminals.
• Monitoring Inputs (Monitor 1 & Monitor 2): These inputs are typically used to monitor the status of external devices (e.g., water flow switches, tamper switches). Connect the field wiring for these devices to the designated input terminals.
• Kommunikationsløkke: Connect the module to the fire alarm control panel's signaling line circuit (SLC) or equivalent communication loop terminals.
• Strømforsyning: Ensure proper power connections as per system requirements. The module may draw power from the SLC or require a separate supervised power supply.

2.3 Adressering

The FDRM-1 module requires a unique address for communication with the fire alarm control panel. Set the module's address using the two rotary switches located on the front of the module. Consult your control panel's documentation for available address ranges and proper addressing procedures.

3. Driftsprincipper

Once properly installed and addressed, the FDRM-1 module operates under the control of the fire alarm control panel. It continuously monitors its two input circuits for changes in status (e.g., open, short, alarm condition) and reports these to the panel. Upon receiving commands from the control panel, the module can activate its two independent relays, changing the state of their N.O. and N.C. contacts to control connected auxiliary equipment.

The module's operation mode is automatic, responding to programmed events and conditions within the fire alarm system.

4. Vedligeholdelse

Regular maintenance ensures the continued reliability of the FDRM-1 module and the overall fire alarm system. Maintenance should be performed by qualified personnel only.

5. Fejlfinding

• Modulet svarer ikke:
  • Verify correct addressing using the rotary switches.
  • Check communication loop wiring for opens, shorts, or incorrect connections.
  • Ensure the module is compatible with the control panel.
• Monitoring Input Fault:
  • Inspect wiring to the monitored device for opens or shorts.
  • Verify the monitored device is functioning correctly.
  • Check for proper end-of-line resistor (EOLR) installation if required.

  • Check wiring from the relay contacts to the controlled device.
  • Verify the controlled device is operational and its power supply is active.
