3. Opsætning

  1. Forbered området: Select a clean, well-ventilated area free from strong odors or drafts that could interfere with the test.
  2. Assemble Nebulizers: Ensure both nebulizers are clean and properly assembled. Fill one nebulizer with the FT-31 Sensitivity Solution and the other with the FT-32 Fit Test Solution. Label them clearly to avoid confusion.
  3. Prepare Test Subject: Instruct the test subject to refrain from eating, drinking (except water), chewing gum, or smoking for at least 15 minutes prior to the test.
  4. Respirator Selection: The test subject should don the respirator they will be using, ensuring it is properly adjusted according to the manufacturer's instructions.

4. Betjeningsvejledning

4.1. Følsomhedstest

  1. Position Test Subject: Have the test subject place their head inside the test hood.
  2. Administer Sensitivity Solution: Using the nebulizer filled with FT-31 Sensitivity Solution, squeeze the bulb fully until a fine mist is produced. Administer 10 squeezes into the hood.
  3. Detect Taste: Ask the test subject if they can taste the bitter solution. If not, administer 10 more squeezes. Repeat this process, adding 10 squeezes at a time, until the subject detects the taste. Record the total number of squeezes required.
  4. No Taste Detected: If the subject cannot detect the taste after 30 squeezes, they cannot be fit tested with the bitter taste method. An alternative fit test method must be used.

4.2. Tilpasningstest

  1. Respirator Donning: The test subject should don their respirator and perform a user seal check as per the respirator manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Position Test Subject: Have the test subject place their head inside the test hood.
  3. Administer Fit Test Solution: Using the nebulizer filled with FT-32 Fit Test Solution, administer the same number of squeezes determined in the sensitivity test into the hood.
  4. Perform Exercises: While the solution is being administered, the test subject must perform a series of exercises for one minute each:
    • Normal vejrtrækning
    • Dyb vejrtrækning
    • Turning head side to side
    • Moving head up and down
    • Reading aloud or talking
    • Bending over (if applicable)
  5. Detect Taste: During each exercise, ask the test subject if they can taste the bitter solution. If they taste it at any point, the respirator has failed the fit test.
  6. Bestå ikke-bestå: If the test subject does not detect the bitter taste throughout the entire fit test procedure, the respirator has passed the qualitative fit test.
  7. Dokumentation: Record the results of the fit test, including the respirator model, date, and outcome.

5. Vedligeholdelse

  • Cleaning Nebulizers: After each use, disassemble and thoroughly clean the nebulizers with warm water and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before storage.
  • Cleaning Test Hood: Wipe the test hood with a damp cloth and mild disinfectant. Ensure it is dry before storage.
  • Opbevaring af opløsning: Store sensitivity and fit test solutions in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Ensure bottles are tightly capped. Check expiration dates regularly.
  • Inspektion: Periodically inspect all kit components for damage, wear, or contamination. Replace any damaged parts immediately.

6. Fejlfinding
