4. Installation og opsætning

4.1 Kontrol før installation

Ensure the door is prepared according to ANSI A115.1 (Type 86) Mortise Lock specifications.
Verify door thickness is 1-3/4" and door width is between 30-36".
Confirm all components are present: exit device, mortise lock, strike plate, and fasteners. Note that exterior trim and mortise cylinder are not included and must be sourced separately.

4.2 Handing Reversibility

The device is field reversible. The Touchbar Assembly, Mortise Lock, and Trim (if applicable) can be reversed on-site to accommodate either left-hand or right-hand door configurations. For complete device reversibility, a mortise strike plate for the opposite hand may be required.

4.3 General Installation Steps (Consult Full Template)

Prepare the door and frame according to the provided installation template (not included in this manual, typically supplied with the product).
Install the mortise lock into the door's mortise pocket. Ensure the lock front plate pivots correctly for beveled or square-edged doors.
Attach the exit device assembly to the door, aligning it with the mortise lock.
Secure all components with appropriate fasteners.
Install the strike plate (No. S982) on the door frame, ensuring proper alignment with the latchbolt.
Test the device for smooth operation and proper latching.

5. Betjening

To exit, simply push the touchbar on the interior side of the door. This action retracts the latchbolt, allowing the door to open. The device is designed for immediate and unobstructed egress.

5.1 Dogging Function

For applications where the door needs to remain unlocked and open without the latchbolt extending, the dogging mechanism can be engaged. Insert a 1/4" hex key into the dogging hole (typically located on the underside of the device) and turn it 1/4 turn. This will hold the latchbolt retracted. To disengage, turn the hex key back 1/4 turn. Note: Dogging is NOT available on Fire Exit Hardware models.
