1. Introduktion
This user manual provides essential information for the proper use, inspection, maintenance, and storage of the SafeWaze FS126-E-DL Fall Protection Kit. This kit is designed to provide personal fall arrest protection for workers at height. It is imperative that all users read and understand this manual completely before using the equipment. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury or death.
2. Sikkerhedsoplysninger
WARNING: Fall protection equipment is life-saving equipment. Improper use can result in serious injury or death.
- Only trained and competent persons should use this equipment. Training must include proper donning, inspection, anchorage requirements, and rescue procedures.
- Always inspect all components of the fall protection kit before each use. Do not use if any damage, wear, or deformation is observed.
- Ensure that the anchorage point used can support at least 5,000 lbs (22.2 kN) per worker attached, or meets OSHA/ANSI requirements for engineered systems.
- Maintain a clear fall path. Ensure there is sufficient clearance below the work surface to prevent striking an obstruction or the ground in the event of a fall.
- Do not modify or alter the equipment in any way. Repairs must only be performed by the manufacturer or a certified service center.
- Protect equipment from sharp edges, abrasive surfaces, high temperatures, chemicals, and other hazards that could compromise its integrity.
- This equipment is designed for personal fall arrest only. Do not use for lifting, hoisting, or other purposes.
- In the event of a fall, immediately remove the equipment from service and contact SafeWaze for inspection or replacement.
3. Kitkomponenter
The SafeWaze FS126-E-DL Fall Protection Kit typically includes the following components:
- Full-Body Harness (FS99280-E): Designed to distribute fall arrest forces over the body's strongest areas. Features adjustable straps and D-rings.
- Twin-Leg Lanyard (FS88561-E): A shock-absorbing lanyard with two legs, allowing for 100% tie-off while moving between anchor points.
- Storage Bag (FS8125): A durable bag for convenient storage and transport of the kit components.

This image displays the complete Safewaze FS126-E-DL Fall Protection Kit. On the left, a full-body harness is shown on a mannequin, highlighting its straps and D-rings. To the right, a shock-absorbing lanyard and a twin-leg lanyard with snap hooks are visible. Below these, a black storage bag with the SafeWaze logo is included.
4. Opsætning og påtagning af selen
- Inspect the Harness: Before each use, visually inspect the harness for cuts, fraying, broken stitches, heat damage, chemical damage, or any other signs of wear or damage. Check all buckles, D-rings, and adjusters for proper function and deformation.
- Hold Harness by Dorsal D-Ring: Hold the harness by the dorsal D-ring (located on the back). Shake the harness to allow all straps to fall into place.
- Don Shoulder Straps: Slip the shoulder straps over your shoulders, ensuring they are not twisted. The dorsal D-ring should be positioned between your shoulder blades.
- Connect Leg Straps: Pull the leg straps between your legs and connect them to the appropriate buckles. Ensure the straps are not twisted.
- Connect Chest Strap: Fasten the chest strap across your chest and adjust it to be approximately 6 inches below the top of your shoulders.
- Juster stropper: Adjust all straps (shoulder, leg, chest) so that the harness fits snugly but allows for full range of motion. There should be no slack in the straps, but they should not be uncomfortably tight. Ensure excess webbing is secured.
5. Operating the Fall Protection System
- Select Anchorage Point: Identify a suitable anchorage point that meets the strength requirements (5,000 lbs per worker or engineered system). The anchorage should be located directly above the work area whenever possible to minimize swing fall hazards.
- Connect Lanyard: Connect one leg of the twin-leg lanyard to the dorsal D-ring of your harness. Connect the other leg(s) to the selected anchorage point. When moving, always maintain one leg connected to an anchorage point (100% tie-off).
- Bekræft forbindelser: Double-check all connections to ensure they are secure and properly engaged.
- Oprethold frihøjder: Calculate and ensure adequate fall clearance below the work surface. This includes lanyard length, deceleration distance, harness stretch, and a safety factor.
- Emergency Plan: Always have a rescue plan in place before beginning work at height. Prolonged suspension in a harness after a fall can lead to suspension trauma.
6. Vedligeholdelse og opbevaring
6.1. Inspektion
Regular inspection is critical for safety. In addition to pre-use inspections, a competent person must perform a thorough inspection at least every six months, or more frequently based on use and environmental conditions. Keep detailed inspection records.
6.2. Rensning
Clean the harness and lanyard with a mild soap and water solution. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Hang to air dry in a cool, shaded area away from direct sunlight or heat. Do not use harsh chemicals, bleach, or abrasive cleaners.
6.3. Opbevaring
Store the kit in a cool, dry, clean area, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, corrosive chemicals, and sharp objects. Use the provided storage bag (FS8125) to protect components when not in use.
7. Fejlfinding
- Harness feels uncomfortable or loose: Re-adjust all straps for a snug fit. Ensure no twists in the webbing. If discomfort persists, verify correct size or consult SafeWaze.
- Lanyard does not reach anchorage: Do not extend the lanyard with unauthorized means. Re-evaluate your work position or anchorage point.
- Equipment shows signs of wear/damage: Immediately remove from service. Do not attempt to repair. Contact SafeWaze for guidance on replacement.
- Difficulty with buckles/connectors: Ensure they are clean and free of debris. If they are stiff or malfunctioning, remove the equipment from service.
