- Inspicer selen: Before each use, hold the harness by the dorsal D-ring and shake it to allow all straps to fall into place. Inspect all webbing, D-rings, buckles, and stitching for cuts, fraying, deformation, corrosion, or any other damage. Check fall arrest indicators for activation. If any damage is found, remove the harness from service immediately.
- Orient the Harness: Ensure the dorsal D-ring is positioned at the top of the back. The shoulder straps should be free of twists.

6. Driftsprincipper
6.1. Fall Arrest System
When used as part of a personal fall arrest system, the dorsal D-ring is the designated attachment point for a fall arrest lanyard or self-retracting lifeline. The system must include an anchor point capable of supporting 5,000 lbs (22.2 kN) per worker, a full-body harness, and a connecting device (lanyard with energy absorber or SRL).
- Vedhæftet fil: Connect the fall arrest lanyard or SRL only to the dorsal D-ring.
- Ankerpunkt: The anchor point should be located directly above the worker whenever possible to minimize swing fall hazards.
- Post-Fall: If a fall occurs, immediately remove the harness from service and have it inspected by a competent person. Do not reuse a harness that has arrested a fall.
6.2. Work Positioning System
The two side D-rings are designed for work positioning, allowing a worker to be supported at a work location and work with both hands free. A work positioning system is not a fall arrest system and must always be used in conjunction with a separate personal fall arrest system.
- Vedhæftet fil: Connect a work positioning lanyard to both side D-rings.
- Støtte: The work positioning system should limit a free fall to no more than 2 feet (0.6 meters).
- Fall Arrest Backup: Always ensure a separate, independent fall arrest system is in place and properly connected when using the harness for work positioning.
