2. Opsætning

Upon receiving your TOOLTOP Network Cable Tester, carefully unbox all components and inspect them for any signs of damage. The package contents typically include:

3.1. Network Cable Length Measurement

3.2. Cable Mapping (Wire Sequence Test)

This function tests for open circuits, crossovers, and short circuits in network cables. The LCD provides clear and intuitive display results.

3.3. Crystal Head Crimping Test (QC)

This test verifies if the network cable's crystal head (RJ45 connector) is properly crimped and connected.

  1. Insert the crimped RJ45 connector into the designated QC port on the host unit.
  2. The device will indicate if the crimping is correct or if there's an issue (e.g., 'Line 1-core wire is not properly crimped, and the No.1 light does not light up').

3.4. Tracing Cables (Line Finding Test)

This feature helps quickly locate a target cable among a bundle, offering both digital and vibration modes.

  1. Connect the network cable to be traced to the main unit.
  2. Select the 'Tracing Cables (Scan)' mode.
  3. Use the receiver unit to scan the cables. The receiver will emit a sound (digital mode) or vibrate (vibration mode) when it detects the target cable. Adjust sensitivity with the wheel on the receiver.

3.5. POE-testning

Test Power over Ethernet (PoE) systems to determine voltage and polarity, compatible with standard and non-standard IEEE802.3AF/AT.

  1. Connect the network cable from the PoE source (e.g., PoE switch) to the tester.
  2. Select the 'PoE Test' mode.

3.6. Port Flash

This function helps identify the corresponding port on a switch or router by making its link/activity LED flash.

  1. Connect the network cable from the tester to a port on the network device (e.g., switch).
  2. Select the 'Port Flash' mode.
  3. The corresponding port's LED on the network device will flash, allowing for easy identification.

3.7. Remote ID Mapping (Optional)

For identifying multiple cable runs in one step, optional remote ID adapters can be used.

  1. Select the 'NCV' mode.
  2. Bring the top of the receiver unit close to the suspected live wire or outlet.

3.10. Lommelygte

The device includes a built-in flashlight for working in dimly lit areas. Activate it as needed during operation.

4. Vedligeholdelse
