4. Opsætningsvejledning

4.1. Modultilslutning

The RT18A01 module features standard RS485 and power connections. Connect your device to the module as follows:

  • 5V: Connect to a DC 5V power supply.
  • GND: Tilslut til jord.
  • A+: Connect to the A+ terminal of your RS485 device.
  • B-: Connect to the B- terminal of your RS485 device.

Ensure correct polarity for both power and RS485 data lines to prevent damage.

4.2. Installation af antenne

Each RT18A01 module requires an antenna for wireless communication. The module comes with a SMA plug straight connector for the antenna.

  1. Select the appropriate antenna (433M or 868M) based on your module's frequency. The 868M antenna is typically white.
  2. Carefully screw the SMA connector of the antenna onto the corresponding port on the RT18A01 module until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.

5. Betjeningsvejledning

The RT18A01 module supports various communication modes, allowing for flexible network configurations.

5.1. Kommunikationsmetoder

For systems with two or more modules:

  • Two Modules (One-to-One): Module 1 and Module 2 can send data directly to each other.
  • Three or More Modules (Repeater Mode): Module 1 sends data, Module 2 acts as a repeater (multiple repeaters can be used), and Module 3 receives data. This extends the transmission and reception distance.
  • Three or More Modules (Master-Slave Control): One module acts as the master device, and the others function as slave devices. This mimics a wired RS485 bus network. The master sends data, and all slave devices receive it. Any slave device can send data, and the master and other slave devices can receive it.

5.2. Baud Rate Settings

  • AT Mode: The baud rate is fixed at 9600BPS when configured in AT mode.
  • Transparent Transmission Mode: The baud rate can be configured to 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600 (default), or 19200.

8. Fejlfinding

  • Ingen kommunikation:
    • Check power supply (DC 5V) and ground connections.
    • Verify RS485 A+ and B- connections are correct and not swapped.
    • Ensure all communicating modules are set to the same frequency (433M or 868M).
    • Confirm that the baud rates are identical across all communicating modules.
    • Check antenna connections; ensure they are securely attached.
    • Reduce the distance between modules or ensure line-of-sight for optimal performance.
