1. Introduktion

The RIDEN RD6024 and RD6024W are advanced digital control adjustable step-down DC power supplies, offering high current output up to 24A and power up to 1440W. These devices are designed for precise voltage and current regulation, featuring a 2.4-inch HD color display, keypad control, data storage, battery charging capabilities, and multiple protection functions. The RD6024W model includes a WiFi communication board for mobile APP control, while both models support PC software control via USB.

2. Sikkerhedsinstruktioner

  • Ensure the device is reliably grounded when using an AC input with a switching power supply to prevent leakage risk.
  • Only connect cables if you have a foundation in electronic and electrical engineering.
  • Before connecting a Power Supply Unit (PSU) to the RD power supply, use a multimeter to verify the PSU's output voltage is stable and matches the rated voltage. Do not connect if the output is abnormal to avoid damage.
  • Do not remove the shell of the PSU for heat dissipation, as this can lead to insufficient cooling and damage components.
  • Non-professionals should not use the battery charging function without understanding the risks of fire and explosion.
  • Avoid using inductive loads (e.g., motors) that exceed 1/3 of the device's current range.
  • Do not use electric bike chargers, second-hand power supplies, or modified power supplies as input, as they can be unstable and damage the device.

3. Pakkens indhold

The standard package includes the RD6024 or RD6024W main unit and a Chinese and English instruction card. Other accessories, such as a case, power source, and cables, need to be purchased separately to complete a full power supply setup.

If you purchase the S800 case, it includes internal cables and screws for assembly. It is compatible with RD6012/RD6018/RD6024 and AC-DC 800W/1000W switching power supplies.

Note: Ripple measurement is performed at X1 range, AC coupling, 20MHz bandwidth on an oscilloscope with a 0.1uF parallel capacitor at the output terminals.

5. Opsætning

5.1 Power Supply Unit (PSU) Selection

The RD6024/RD6024W requires a DC input. If you intend to power it from an AC source, you must use a suitable switching power supply (PSU). It is highly recommended to use custom PSUs or reputable brand PSUs. Ensure the PSU is reliably grounded.

  • Recommended PSUs: Use custom or famous brand switching power supplies. Examples include 400W-65V and 1000W-68V models.
  • Not Recommended PSUs: If using an AC-DC converter or transformer, you must add a rectifier and filter. The DC output voltage without load should be lower than 65V. Power grid voltage fluctuations can cause high output voltage and damage the device.
  • Banned PSUs: Do NOT use electric bike chargers, second-hand power supplies, or modified power supplies. These devices are extremely unstable and may output high voltages, potentially burning your load.

Upon receiving a PSU, always use a multimeter to check if the real output voltage is stable and fits the rated voltage before connecting it to the RD power supply. If the output is abnormal, contact support and do not connect it to the RD power supply.

5.2 Case Assembly (S800 Case Exampdet)

If you are assembling the RD6024/RD6024W into an S800 case, follow these guidelines:

  • Ensure the device is installed correctly into the case. Refer to Figure 8 for the correct installation method.
  • The S12D case is NOT suitable for the RD6024/RD6024W because its rocker switch cannot support 24A.
  • Do not remove the shell of the switching power supply (PSU) when installing it into the case. Removing the shell can compromise the heat dissipation system, leading to overheating and damage.

6. Betjeningsvejledning

6.1 Grundlæggende betjening

The RD6024/RD6024W features a digital keypad and rotary encoder for setting parameters. The 2.4-inch HD color display provides clear and comprehensive information.

6.2 Skærmgrænseflade

The device offers multiple display styles: Classic, Detailed, and Curve. You can switch between these styles using the system settings. It also supports a Nixie Tube display and custom color options (15 colors available).

6.3 Datalagring og -genkaldelse

6.4 Batteriopladningsfunktion

The RD6024/RD6024W includes green charging terminals specifically designed for battery charging, suitable for multiple battery types. It supports over-temperature protection with an external temperature sensor; charging will stop if the temperature exceeds the limit.

6.5 PC-softwarestyring

The power supply can be monitored and controlled using PC software, offering a user-friendly interface and powerful functions. This software is compatible with Windows 7 and above.

Note: There may be compatibility issues with the software. It is recommended to install and test the software before purchasing if PC control is a critical feature for you.

6.6 Mobile APP Control (RD6024W only)

The RD6024W model supports WiFi connection for control via a mobile APP (Android and iOS). The APP allows for easy setting and monitoring of the device.

Vigtig: The WiFi communication only supports 2.4G signals; 5G signals are not supported. The APP requires Android 8.0+ or iOS 10.0-13.4. Ensure location and storage services are enabled during APP installation. The WiFi communication board must be properly inserted.

6.7 Firmwareopgradering

The RD6024/RD6024W supports firmware upgrades to continuously optimize performance and add new functions. Upgrading the firmware takes approximately 100 seconds.

7. Vedligeholdelse

7.1 Udskiftning af sikringer

The device includes a backup fuse. If the main fuse is blown due to incorrect operation, you can temporarily use the backup fuse by inserting it into the socket next to the burned one. Note that the backup fuse supports only 10A. For full output, it is recommended to remove the damaged fuse and solder a new, good fuse in the original position.

7.2 Generel pleje

  • Operate within the specified working temperature range (-10℃~40℃).
  • Ensure proper ventilation; the cooling fan operates when output current > 8A or system temperature > 45℃, and shuts down when output current < 7.9A and system temperature < 45℃.

8. Fejlfinding

8.1 Software and APP Connectivity Issues

  • APP crashes or cannot connect (RD6024W):
    • Ensure the WiFi board is properly inserted.
    • Verify your WiFi network is 2.4GHz (5G is not supported).
    • Disable client isolation/AP isolation and WMM function on your router.
    • Ensure location and storage services are enabled for the APP during installation.
    • The APP supports Android 8.0+ and iOS 10.0-13.4.
  • PC software cannot connect via WiFi (RD6024W):
    • WiFi connection for PC software is a test function and may have compatibility issues with some computers. If it doesn't work, use a USB micro cable for PC control.
    • PC software supports Windows 7 and above.

8.2 Physical Defects and Appearance

  • Slightly deformed case: The case may be slightly deformed during shipping. It can often be adjusted by hand. This does not affect functionality.

  • Scratches on PSU: Some PSUs may have scratches on the surface. This typically does not affect product performance.

  • Traces on the panel: Slight traces at the button holes of the shell are due to the injection molding process and are not considered damage.

8.3 Driftsmæssige problemer

  • High-frequency noise from 800W65V PSU: Some 800W65V switching power supplies may produce high-frequency noise when powered on with no load. This can be improved by adding a load resistor.

  • Using with inductive loads: If connecting an inductive load (e.g., a motor), ensure the maximum working current does not exceed 1/3 of the device's rated current range.

9. Brugertips

  • For optimal performance and safety, always use a recommended PSU and ensure proper grounding.
  • Regularly check for firmware updates to access new features and improvements.
  • If you encounter any issues with the PSU upon arrival, verify its output with a multimeter before connecting to the RD power supply.
  • When assembling into a case, follow the correct installation method to ensure proper fit and function.
  • The device's display offers various styles and custom colors; explore these options to personalize your experience.
