The AFMAT Electric Pencil Sharpener Model PSC8 is a fully automatic, rechargeable device designed for convenient and efficient pencil sharpening. It accommodates a wide range of pencil sizes and shapes, from 7mm to 11.5mm in diameter, including standard, jumbo, and colored pencils. Its hands-free operation, adjustable sharpness settings, and safety features make it suitable for various environments, including classrooms, art studios, and home use.

2. Opsætningsvejledning

2.1 Charging the Sharpener

• Connect the provided USB cable to the sharpener's charging port.
• Plug the other end of the USB cable into a 5V 2A adapter or a 5V USB port. (Note: Adapter is not included. Fast-charge devices are not compatible.)
• A full charge takes approximately 2 hours and provides up to 600 sharpenings. The sharpener can be used while charging.

2.2 Securing the Shavings Tray

• Ensure the top lid, which covers the shavings tray, is securely fastened.
• You should hear a click to indicate it is locked. If not securely fastened, the sharpener may not operate correctly due to a built-in safety mechanism.

3.1 Hands-Free Sharpening

• Insert the pencil into the sharpening hole at the top of the device.
• The sharpener will automatically feed the pencil in, sharpen it, and eject it once a perfect tip is achieved.
• This hands-free operation is ideal for ease of use and keeps hands clean.

3.2 Pencil Compatibility

• The sharpener is designed for pencils with diameters between 7 mm og 11.5 mm.
• It can sharpen various shapes of pencils, including standard, jumbo, and colored pencils.
• Pencils as short as 2.9 inches can be sharpened.

3.3 Adjusting Sharpness Settings

• Rotate the gear located at the bottom of the sharpener to select one of three sharpness settings:
• Sharp Tip: For fine detail work.
• Medium indstilling: Suitable for rough sketches or general writing.
• Blunt Tip: Thick tip for shading or for children who apply heavy pressure.
• Note: For soft-core pencils, use medium or blunt settings to prevent lead breakage. Not recommended for ultra-soft pencils.

3.4 Child-Safe Design

• The sharpener incorporates safety features such as not operating when the lid is removed and overheat protection.
• The sharp blade is not exposed to users, enhancing safety for children.

4. Vedligeholdelse

4.1 Tømning af spåner

• The sharpener has a large-capacity shavings tray.
• To empty, twist the top lid to the "open" position (indicated by an unlock icon).
• Lift the lid and the internal sharpening mechanism.
• Carefully dump the pencil shavings into a waste bin.
• Replace the sharpening mechanism and lid, ensuring it clicks into the locked position.

4.2 Blade Cleaning and Replacement

• The helical blade is durable and designed for long-lasting use (supporting over 4000 sharpening times).
• If sharpening performance decreases or the pencil core is off-center, the blade may need cleaning or replacement.
• To clean, remove the sharpening mechanism as described in 4.1. Use a small brush or pencil to gently clear any jammed pencil waste from the blade.
• If the blade is old or damaged, it can be easily replaced. Replacement blades are sold separately.

5. Fejlfinding

• Pencil not sharpening to a sharp point:
  • Check if the pencil core is off-center.
  • Ensure the shavings tray is not full and clear any jammed pencil waste from the blade (refer to Maintenance section 4.2).
  • Consider replacing the blade if it is old or worn.
• Sharpener stops working after prolonged use:
  • The sharpener has a safety feature that stops it after approximately 100 continuous uses to prevent overheating. Recharge the device to reactivate it.
  • If the sharpener overheats, allow it to cool down for 15-30 minutes before resuming use.
• Skæreren tænder ikke:
