4. Opsætning og installation

The DAYTECH AJ-762 smoke detector offers two installation methods: magnetic mounting for quick, drill-free setup, and traditional screw mounting for a more permanent fixture.

4.1 Valg af installationssted

For optimal smoke detection, install the detector in the center of the ceiling in each room. Avoid installing near air vents, windows, or in areas with high humidity (e.g., bathrooms) or extreme temperatures.

4.2 Magnetic Mounting (Drill-Free)

1. Rengør overfladen: Ensure the ceiling surface is clean, dry, and smooth.
2. Fastgør klæbepuder: Peel the protective film from the 3M adhesive pads and firmly attach them to the magnetic mounting plate.
3. Mount the Plate: Peel the remaining protective film from the adhesive pads on the magnetic plate and press the plate firmly onto the chosen ceiling location for at least 30 seconds.
4. Tilslut detektor: Align the smoke detector with the magnetic plate on the ceiling. The magnets will secure the detector in place.

4.3 Screw Mounting (Traditional)

1. Marker borehuller: Use the mounting bracket as a template to mark two drill holes on the ceiling.
2. Bore huller: Drill holes at the marked positions. Insert the wall plugs if necessary.
3. Sikkert beslag: Attach the mounting bracket to the ceiling using the provided screws.

4.4 Post-Installation Test

After installation, always perform a test to ensure the detector is functioning correctly. Refer to section 5.1 for testing instructions.

5. Betjeningsvejledning

5.1 Testing the Smoke Detector

It is recommended to test your smoke detector at least once a month to ensure it is working properly.

1. Press and hold the test/silence button located on the center of the detector for approximately 2 seconds.
2. The detector will emit a loud alarm sound (85 dB) and the LED indicator will flash red.
3. Release the button. The alarm will stop, and the LED will return to its normal operating state (flashing every 50 seconds).
4. If the alarm does not sound or the LED does not flash, refer to the Troubleshooting section.

5.2 Lydløshedsfunktion

In case of a non-emergency alarm (e.g., cooking fumes), you can temporarily silence the alarm:

This indicates that the unit needs to be replaced. This alert will continue for approximately 30 days before the battery is fully depleted.

• Månedlig test: Test the smoke detector monthly using the test/silence button.
• Rensning: Dust can accumulate on the detector and affect its performance. Gently vacuum the exterior of the detector with a soft brush attachment at least once a year. Do not use water or cleaning solvents.
