Follow these steps to assemble your Big City Picker Raised Bed Grow Box. An instructional video is provided below for visual guidance.

1. Udpak komponenter: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Ensure you have the grow box, aeration screen, fill tube, casters, and mulch cover.
2. Install Aeration Screen and Casters: Place the aeration screen securely into the bottom of the grow box. Ensure the fill tube is placed through the corresponding rounded corner in the screen and pushed all the way to the bottom of the box. Securely and firmly screw the casters into the designated holes on the bottom of the grow box.
3. Moisten Potting Mix: Before adding, pre-moisten your potting mix by adding a small amount of water until it is moist but not soaked. This helps initiate the wicking action. If the potting mix is too dry, it will soak up water like a dry sponge, hindering proper wicking.
4. Tilsæt potteblanding: Pack the corners of the grow box with moist potting mix to ensure good wicking of water to the plants. Then, add a layer of potting mix to fill the box, leaving about 1-2 inches from the top. Level the top evenly.
5. Create Fertilizer Trough: Create a trough for the fertilizer. Refer to the plant placement chart (not included in this manual, typically provided with seedlings/seeds) to determine the location of plants and the fertilizer trough.
6. Add Fertilizer: Place fertilizer in the trough. Use two cups of synthetic or three cups of organic fertilizer.
7. Mound Potting Mix: Mound additional potting mix over the fertilizer and 2 inches above the top of the grow box.
8. Secure Mulch Cover: Secure the mulch cover over the grow box, ensuring it covers the fill tube and the soil.
9. Skær åbninger: Cut "X" shaped openings in the mulch cover for the fill tube and for each plant. The size of the "X" should be similar to the root ball of your seedlings.
10. Plant Seedlings/Seeds: Plant your seedlings or seeds through the cut openings in the mulch cover. Gently loosen the plant root ball and place it through the mulch cover into the soil.

Initially, water your newly planted seedlings from the top for the first few days to help them establish. After this initial period, exclusively use the fill tube to water the reservoir. The reservoir is full when you notice water flowing from the overflow hole on the side of the grow box. For young plants, add water at least once every day. Adjust frequency based on your plants' needs and local climate conditions.

Sunlight and Placement

Utilize the mobile casters to easily move your grow box to take maximum advantage of moisture, temperature, and sunlight throughout the day or season. Ensure your plants receive adequate sunlight for optimal growth.

• Ensure the potting mix was adequately pre-moistened before planting. Dry potting mix can prevent proper wicking.
• Verify that the fill tube is correctly inserted and reaches the bottom of the reservoir, and that the aeration screen is properly seated.
• Check for any obstructions in the fill tube or aeration screen that might impede water flow.

Plants Showing Signs of Stress

• Yellowing Leaves: May indicate overwatering or nutrient deficiency. Check the water reservoir level and ensure proper drainage. Consider adding more fertilizer if it's been a while since the last application.
• Wilting: Could be underwatering or excessive heat. Check the reservoir and ensure the grow box is not exposed to extreme temperatures without adequate moisture.
• Slow Growth: Ensure plants are receiving sufficient sunlight. Adjust the position of the grow box using the casters. Verify that the fertilizer trough has been replenished as needed.
