2. Installationsvejledning

Follow these steps to properly install the adjustable motherboard backplate and CPU heatsink mounting bracket.

2.1 Step 1: Prepare the Motherboard

Ensure your computer is powered off and disconnected from the power source. Remove the motherboard from the computer case if necessary to access the rear of the CPU socket area. Clean any thermal paste residue from the CPU and heatsink base if you are replacing an existing cooler.

2.2 Step 2: Adjust the Backplate

The backplate features adjustable tabs at each corner. Slide these yellow tabs to align with the mounting holes of your specific Intel LGA socket type. The hole distances are approximately 7.2cm for LGA 775, 7.5cm for LGA 115X, and 8.0cm for LGA 1366/2011. Ensure the backplate is centered and the holes are perfectly aligned with those on the motherboard.

2.3 Step 3: Assemble Mounting Hardware

For each of the four mounting points, place a compression spring onto a mounting screw. Then, secure a C-buckle washer onto the groove near the tip of the screw. Ensure the C-buckle is firmly seated to prevent it from detaching during installation. These components will pass through the heatsink mounting holes and secure into the backplate.

2.4 Step 4: Mount the CPU Cooler

Apply a thin, even layer of thermal paste to the CPU. Carefully place the CPU heatsink onto the CPU, aligning its mounting holes with the assembled screws. Insert the screws through the heatsink and motherboard, then thread them into the corresponding holes on the backplate. Tighten the screws in a diagonal pattern (e.g., top-left, bottom-right, top-right, bottom-left) gradually until the heatsink is firmly secured. Do not overtighten.

Once correctly installed, the motherboard backplate functions passively by providing a stable anchor for your CPU heatsink. 5.1 Backplate Does Not Fit Motherboard Holes

• Special Motherboards: Some HP/DELL motherboards may use proprietary high-instep backplanes that are incompatible with this universal kit. If adjustment does not resolve the issue, the backplate may not be suitable for your specific motherboard model.

5.2 C-Buckle Washers Detach During Installation
