Opsætningsinstruktioner

Follow these steps to connect and enable your Arducam camera module with a Raspberry Pi:

  1. Connect the FFC/FPC Cable to the Camera Module: Gently lift the black or brown clip on the camera module's connector. Insert one end of the appropriate flexible cable (FFC for Pi A/B, FPC for Pi Zero/W) into the connector with the blue strip facing away from the lens. Push the clip back down to secure the cable.
  2. Connect the FFC/FPC Cable to the Raspberry Pi: Locate the CSI (Camera Serial Interface) port on your Raspberry Pi. It is typically a long, thin connector. Gently lift the clip on the CSI port. Insert the other end of the flexible cable into the CSI port, ensuring the blue strip faces towards the Ethernet port (on models with one) or away from the USB ports. Secure the clip.
  3. Enable the Camera Interface: Power on your Raspberry Pi. Open a terminal and run the command: sudo raspi-config. Navigate to 'Interface Options' > 'Camera' and select 'Yes' to enable the camera interface. Exit raspi-config and reboot your Raspberry Pi when prompted.
  4. Test kameraet: After rebooting, open a terminal and test the camera by capturing an image: raspistill -o test_image.jpg. If successful, an image named test_image.jpg will be saved in your current directory.

Betjeningsvejledning

Once the camera is set up, you can use various commands to capture images and videos. The following are basic commands for the Raspberry Pi OS command line:

  • Capture a still image:
    raspistill -o my_image.jpg
This command captures an image and saves it as my_image.jpg.
  • Capture a video:
    raspivid -o my_video.h264 -t 10000
This command captures a 10-second video (10000 milliseconds) and saves it as my_video.h264.
  • View camera options:
    raspistill --help or raspivid --help
These commands display a list of available options for image and video capture, including resolution, frame rate, effects, and more.

Typical usage scenarios for this camera module include:

  • Monitoring Octoprint 3D Printers
  • Home security and surveillance systems
  • Dashcam applications
  • General machine vision applications

Opretholdelse

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your camera module, observe the following maintenance guidelines:

  • Rengøring af linser: Use a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth specifically designed for optics to gently clean the camera lens. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals, which can scratch or damage the lens coating.
  • Miljøbeskyttelse: Store and operate the camera module in a dry, dust-free environment. Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures, high humidity, or direct sunlight for extended periods.
  • Statisk udladning: Handle the camera module by its edges and avoid touching the sensor or circuit board directly to prevent damage from electrostatic discharge.
  • Kabelpleje: Ensure the flexible cables are not bent sharply or subjected to excessive force, as this can damage the internal conductors.

Fejlfinding

If you encounter issues with your Arducam camera module, consider the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Kamera ikke registreret:
    • Verify that the FFC/FPC cable is securely and correctly inserted into both the camera module and the Raspberry Pi's CSI port. Ensure the blue strip is oriented correctly.
    • Confirm that the camera interface is enabled in raspi-config and the Raspberry Pi has been rebooted.
    • Ensure your Raspberry Pi OS is up to date. Run sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade.
  • Poor Image Quality / No Image:
    • Check if the camera lens is clean and free from dust or smudges.
    • Ensure adequate lighting in the environment where the camera is being used.
    • Review camera settings (e.g., exposure, white balance) if using advanced capture commands.
  • Kameraet fryser eller går ned:
    • Ensure your Raspberry Pi has a stable power supply (DC 5V, above 1.8A recommended).
    • Close other resource-intensive applications running on the Raspberry Pi.
