This manual provides instructions for the proper use and maintenance of your Sharp EL-W531TL Scientific Calculator. Designed for students and professionals, this calculator performs over 420 advanced scientific functions and features WriteView Technology for clear display of equations.
1. Opsætning
1.1 Batteriinstallation
The Sharp EL-W531TL calculator operates on one LR44 battery, which is included. To install or replace the battery:

- Use a small screwdriver to remove the screw securing the cover.
- Carefully remove the cover and insert the LR44 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.

1.2 Indledende tænding
Tryk på ON/C key to turn on the calculator. The display will show the default mode (e.g., DEG for degrees).

2. Betjeningsvejledning
2.1 Grundlæggende aritmetiske operationer
Perform basic calculations using the number keys and operation keys (+, -, ×, ÷). Trykke = for at vise resultatet.
- Tilføjelse: 5 + 3 = (Resultat: 8)
- Subtraktion: 10 - 4 = (Resultat: 6)
- Multiplikation: 7 × 2 = (Resultat: 14)
- Afdeling: 15 ÷ 3 = (Resultat: 5)
2.2 Videnskabelige funktioner
The EL-W531TL offers over 420 scientific functions. Many functions are accessed by pressing the 2. klasse key followed by the desired function key.
- Trigonometriske funktioner: Bruge synd, cos, tan keys. For inverse functions, press 2. klasse then the respective key (e.g., 2. klasse synd for sin-1).
- Logaritmer: Bruge log (grundtal 10) og ln (naturlig logaritme) nøgler.
- Potenser og rødder: Bruge x² til kvadrering, √ for square root. For other powers, use yx.
- Brøker: Brug ab/c key to enter and calculate fractions.
2.3 Hukommelsesfunktioner
The calculator includes independent memory (M) and variable memories (A-F, X, Y).
- Gem i hukommelsen: Enter a value, then press STO followed by the desired memory key (e.g., STO M+ to store to M).
- Genkald fra hukommelsen: Trykke RCL followed by the desired memory key.
- Ryd hukommelse: Trykke M-CLR to clear all memories.
2.4 Valg af tilstand
Tryk på MODE key to cycle through different calculation modes (e.g., Normal, Stat, Drill). Press CA to change angle units (DEG, RAD, GRAD).

3. Vedligeholdelse
3.1 Rengøring
To clean the calculator, wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or spray directly onto the calculator, as this may damage the display or keys.
3.2 Udskiftning af batteri
When the display becomes dim or calculations are erratic, it is time to replace the battery. Refer to Section 1.1 for battery installation instructions. Always replace with a new LR44 alkaline battery.
3.3 Opbevaring
Store the calculator in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for an extended period, it is recommended to remove the battery to prevent leakage.
4. Fejlfinding
