4. Opsætning
- Udpakning: Carefully remove the vernier caliper from its protective case.
- Indledende rengøring: Before first use, gently wipe all measuring surfaces with a clean, lint-free cloth. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
- Inspektion: Visually inspect the caliper for any signs of damage or manufacturing defects. Ensure the jaws close smoothly and completely.
- Nulkontrol: Close the external measuring jaws completely. The zero mark on the main scale should align perfectly with the zero mark on the vernier scale. If they do not align, there is a zero error that must be accounted for in measurements.
5. Betjeningsvejledning
The vernier caliper allows for four types of measurements: external, internal, depth, and step.
5.1. Reading the Vernier Caliper
To read a vernier caliper, follow these steps:
- Main Scale Reading: Identify the last full millimeter (or inch) mark on the main scale that the zero mark of the vernier scale has passed. This is your main scale reading.
- Vernier Scale Reading: Find the mark on the vernier scale that aligns perfectly with any mark on the main scale. Multiply this vernier scale mark by the least count (0.05mm for this model).
- Total Reading: Add the main scale reading and the vernier scale reading.
5.2. Ekstern måling
To measure the external dimension of an object:
- Open the external jaws (larger jaws) wider than the object.
- Placer genstanden mellem de udvendige kæber.
- Gently close the jaws until they make firm contact with the object. Do not apply excessive force.
- Lock the sliding jaw using the thumb screw, if available, to secure the measurement.
- Read the measurement as described in Section 5.1.
5.3. Intern måling
To measure the internal dimension of a hole or groove:
- Insert the internal jaws (smaller jaws) into the opening.
- Open the jaws until they make firm contact with the inner surfaces of the object.
- Lock the sliding jaw.
- Read the measurement as described in Section 5.1.
5.4. Dybdemåling
To measure the depth of a hole or step:
- Place the end of the main scale on the top surface of the object.
- Extend the depth rod (located at the end of the sliding jaw) into the hole or down to the step.
- Continue extending until the end of the depth rod touches the bottom of the hole or the lower surface of the step.
- Lock the sliding jaw.
- Read the measurement as described in Section 5.1.
5.5. Trinmåling
To measure the height of a step:
- Place the end face of the fixed jaw on the higher surface of the step.
- Lower the sliding jaw until its end face rests on the lower surface of the step.
- Lock the sliding jaw.
- Read the measurement as described in Section 5.1.
6. Vedligeholdelse
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your vernier caliper.
- Rensning: After each use, wipe the caliper clean with a soft, lint-free cloth. If necessary, use a small amount of denatured alcohol to remove grease or dirt, then wipe dry immediately.
- Smøring: Periodically apply a thin film of light machine oil to the sliding surfaces to ensure smooth operation and prevent corrosion.
- Opbevaring: Always store the caliper in its protective case when not in use. Store in a dry, clean environment away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and corrosive substances.
- Håndtering: Avoid dropping or subjecting the caliper to impact, as this can damage the precision components and affect accuracy.
- Kalibreringstjek: Regularly perform a zero check (as described in Section 4) to ensure accuracy. If persistent zero error or other issues arise, professional calibration may be required.
