4. Opsætning

1. Udpakning: Carefully remove the vernier caliper from its protective case.

5.1. Reading the Vernier Caliper

2. Vernier Scale Reading: Find the mark on the vernier scale that aligns perfectly with any mark on the main scale. Multiply this vernier scale mark by the least count (0.05mm for this model).
3. Total Reading: Add the main scale reading and the vernier scale reading.

1. Open the external jaws (larger jaws) wider than the object.

1. Place the end of the main scale on the top surface of the object.
2. Extend the depth rod (located at the end of the sliding jaw) into the hole or down to the step.
3. Continue extending until the end of the depth rod touches the bottom of the hole or the lower surface of the step.
4. Lock the sliding jaw.
5. Read the measurement as described in Section 5.1.

5.5. Trinmåling

To measure the height of a step:

1. Place the end face of the fixed jaw on the higher surface of the step.
2. Lower the sliding jaw until its end face rests on the lower surface of the step.
3. Lock the sliding jaw.
4. Read the measurement as described in Section 5.1.
