2. Vigtige sikkerhedsoplysninger
- Elektrisk fare: Denne enhed indeholder høje volumenertage components. Do not attempt to open the UPS casing, especially when connected to power. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
- Direkte forbindelse: Always connect the UPS directly to a wall outlet. Do not use surge protectors, extension cords, or power strips with the UPS input.
- Ventilation: Sørg for tilstrækkelig ventilation omkring UPS'en. Bloker ikke ventilationsåbningerne.
- Indledende lugt: A new unit may emit a distinct odor, often described as similar to burnt plastic. This is normal and typically dissipates after a few weeks of continuous operation in a well-ventilated area. It is not indicative of a malfunction.
- Udskiftning af batteri: User-performed battery replacement during the warranty period will void the product warranty. Refer to the Maintenance section for details.
3. Pakkens indhold
Bekræft, at din pakke indeholder følgende varer:
- APC Back-UPS BX1400UI Unit
- Two (2) IEC-C13 to IEC-C14 power cables (for connecting devices to the UPS)
- Brugervejledning (dette dokument)
Note: The input power cable (for connecting the UPS to the wall outlet) and the USB communication cable are typically ikke inkluderet and must be purchased separately if needed.
4. Opsætning
4.1. Udpakning og batteritilslutning
- Tag forsigtigt UPS'en ud af emballagen.
- Locate the yellow battery connector on the rear panel of the UPS. This connector is typically disconnected for safe transport.
- Push the yellow battery connector firmly into its socket until it clicks into place. This activates the UPS battery circuits.
4.2. Tilslutning til strøm
- Connect the UPS to a grounded 230V AC wall outlet using an appropriate IEC-320 C14 input power cable (not included).
- Ensure the connection is direct to the wall outlet. Do not use surge protectors or extension cords.
- Allow the UPS to charge for at least 10 hours before connecting critical equipment to ensure full battery runtime.
4.3. Tilslutning af udstyr
The BX1400UI features six IEC 320 C13 outlets for connecting your devices.
- Stikkontakter til batteribackup og overspændingsbeskyttelse: All six IEC-C13 outlets provide both battery backup and surge protection. Connect your computer, monitor, and other critical electronics to these outlets.
- Beskyttelse af datalinjer: The rear panel includes RJ-11 ports labeled "DSL/Modem/Fax/Phone" for protecting your telephone or DSL line from surges. These ports are not suitable for Ethernet network connections.
- USB-grænseflade: Connect a USB Type B cable (not included) from the UPS to your computer for communication and to enable shutdown software functionality.

5. Betjeningsvejledning
5.1. Tænd/sluk
- For at tænde: Press and hold the power button on the front panel until you hear a short beep. The UPS will perform a self-test, and the 'On Line' LED will illuminate green.
- For at slukke: Tryk på tænd/sluk-knappen, og hold den nede, indtil UPS'en slukker.
5.2. LED-indikatorer
The front panel features LED indicators to show the UPS status:
- On Line (Green LED): Indicates the UPS is operating on utility power and providing power to connected equipment.
- On Battery (Yellow LED): Indicates the UPS is operating on battery power during a power outage or brownout. A humming noise is normal during battery operation.
- Replace Battery (Red LED): Indicates the battery needs to be replaced.
- Overbelastning (rød LED): Indicates that the connected equipment exceeds the UPS's capacity. Disconnect non-essential equipment immediately.
5.3. Automatisk Voltage Forordning (AVR)
UPS'en korrigerer automatisk mindre volumentage fluctuations (sags and surges) without switching to battery power, thus preserving battery life. If voltage fluctuations exceed the AVR's correction range, the UPS will switch to battery power.
6. Nøglefunktioner
- Line Interactive Technology: Provides stable power by regulating voltage without constantly switching to battery.
- Automatisk voltage Forordning (AVR): Korrigerer mindre volumentage-udsving uden at bruge batteristrøm.
- Batteri-sikkerhedskopi: Supplies power to connected equipment during outages.
- Overspændingsbeskyttelse: Protects connected devices from damaging power surges and spikes.
- 6 IEC 320 C13 Outlets: Standard outlets for computer equipment.
- USB-grænseflade: Enables communication with a computer for monitoring and controlled shutdown.
- Beskyttelse af datalinjer: Safeguards telephone/DSL lines from surges.
7. Softwarebrug
The APC Back-UPS BX1400UI supports USB Human Interface Device (HID) class specifications, allowing it to be recognized by most operating systems without special drivers.
7.1. APC PowerChute Personal Edition (Windows)
For advanced monitoring and management on Windows systems, download the APC PowerChute Personal Edition software from the official APC webwebsted. Denne software giver dig mulighed for at:
- Monitor UPS status, power consumption, and battery charge.
- Konfigurer automatisk nedlukning af din computer under længerevarende strømafbrydelsetages.
- Adjust UPS settings, such as alarm behavior (e.g., disable the beeper during battery operation).
- Perform self-tests to ensure proper UPS functionality.
7.2. Linux Support (apcupsd / NUT)
For Linux environments, the UPS can be managed using `apcupsd` or Network UPS Tools (NUT). These tools provide similar monitoring and shutdown capabilities. Refer to the documentation for `apcupsd` or NUT for configuration details, typically involving specifying `UPSCABLE usb` and `UPSTYPE usb` for `apcupsd`, or using the `usbhid-ups` driver for NUT.
8. Vedligeholdelse
8.1. Udskiftning af batteri
The APC Back-UPS BX1400UI uses two 12V 7.2Ah sealed lead-acid batteries. The recommended replacement battery pack is APC RBC113.
- During Warranty: If the unit is still under its 2-year warranty, battery replacement must be performed by Schneider Electric IT (SEIT) customer service. User-performed battery replacement during the warranty period will automatically void the warranty.
- After Warranty: After the warranty period, batteries can be replaced by the user. However, due to the presence of high voltage components even when disconnected, it is highly recommended that this operation be performed by specialized personnel. If you choose to replace the batteries yourself, exercise extreme caution.
- Procedure overståetview (for experienced users only): Disconnect the UPS from all power sources and connected equipment. Disconnect the yellow battery connector. Remove the rear panel screws, then the front panel (which is snap-fitted), and additional screws. Carefully access the battery compartment. Note the orientation and wiring of the existing batteries (taking photos is recommended) to ensure correct installation of the new batteries.
8.2. Circuit Breaker Reset
In case of an overload, the UPS may trip its circuit breaker. To reset, disconnect some equipment from the UPS, then press the circuit breaker button located on the rear panel (refer to Figure 2).
9. Fejlfinding
