3. Opsætning

3.1 Udpakning og inspektion

Carefully remove the subwoofer from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage during transit. Retain the original packaging for future transport or storage.

3.2 Placering

The placement of your subwoofer significantly impacts its performance. Experiment with different locations to find the optimal position in your listening area. Generally, placing the subwoofer in a corner can enhance bass output, but may also lead to 'boominess'. Placing it along a wall can provide a more balanced sound. Consider the following dimensions when planning placement:

Avoid placing the subwoofer directly against a wall or in a cabinet without adequate ventilation, as this can lead to overheating.

3.3 Forbindelser

The R-115sw offers various connection options to integrate with your audio system. Ensure the subwoofer is powered off before making any connections.

  • Linjeindgang (V/H): Use these RCA inputs to connect to the LFE (Low-Frequency Effects) output or stereo pre-out of your receiver or processor. For a single LFE output, connect to the 'L' (left) input.
  • WA Port: This port is compatible with the Klipsch WA-2 Wireless Subwoofer Kit (sold separately) for wireless connectivity, offering more flexible placement options.
  • Strømindgang: Connect the provided power cord to this input and then to a suitable wall outlet.

4. Betjening og justeringer

The rear panel of the R-115sw features several controls to fine-tune its performance to your listening environment and preferences.

  • GAIN (Volume) Knob: Justerer subwooferens udgangsniveau. Start med en lav indstilling og øg gradvist, indtil bassen blandes problemfrit med dine hovedhøjttalere.
  • LOW-PASS (Crossover) Knob: Determines the highest frequency the subwoofer will reproduce. Adjust this to match the low-frequency capabilities of your main speakers. A common starting point is 80Hz-100Hz. If your receiver has a built-in crossover, set this knob to its highest setting (LFE).
  • PHASE Switch (0°/180°): This switch helps to acoustically match the subwoofer's output with your main speakers. Experiment with both settings to find the one that provides the most impactful and coherent bass.
  • POWER Mode Switch (ON/AUTO/OFF):
    • PÅ: Subwooferen forbliver konstant tændt.
    • BIL: Subwooferen tænder automatisk, når der registreres et lydsignal, og går i standbytilstand efter en periode med inaktivitet.
    • OFF: Subwooferen er slukket.

5. Betjening af subwooferen

Once connected and powered on, the subwoofer is ready for operation. The front-mounted LED power indicator will illuminate when the unit is active. Adjust the GAIN and LOW-PASS controls as described in Section 4 to achieve the desired bass response. For optimal performance, consider using your receiver's automatic room correction system (if available) after initial setup.
