Indledning

This manual provides instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Avaya 1408 Digital Deskphone. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure proper functionality and to maximize your user experience.

Opsætning

1. Udpakning af telefonen

Fjern forsigtigt alle komponenter fra emballagen. Sørg for, at følgende dele er til stede:

• Avaya 1408 Digital Deskphone unit
• Håndsæt
• Håndsæt ledning
• Ethernet-kabel
• Skrivebordstativ

2. Samling af bordstativet

Attach the desk stand to the back of the phone unit. Ensure it clicks securely into place. The stand allows for adjustable viewing vinkler.

3. Tilslutning af håndsættet

Connect one end of the coiled handset cord to the handset and the other end to the port labeled with a handset icon on the side of the phone base.

4. Tilslutning til netværk og strøm

The Avaya 1408 Digital Deskphone supports Power over Ethernet (PoE). If your network switch provides PoE, connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the back of the phone and the other end to a PoE-enabled network port. The phone will power on automatically.

If PoE is not available, an external power supply (not included) is required. Connect the Ethernet cable to the LAN port and the external power supply to the power port on the phone, then plug the power supply into a wall outlet.

Betjeningsvejledning

Foretag et opkald

1. Løft røret eller tryk på Højttaler knap.
2. Indtast det ønskede nummer ved hjælp af tastaturet.
3. Tryk på Ring or Urskive programtasten (hvis den er tilgængelig på skærmen) eller vent på, at opkaldet opretter forbindelse automatisk.

Besvarelse af et opkald

• Place the handset back in the cradle.

Lydstyrkekontrol

Brug Bind buttons (up/down arrows) on the phone to adjust the handset, speakerphone, or ringer volume during a call or when idle.

Mute-funktion

Tryk på Stum knappen for at slå lyden fra på din mikrofon under et opkald. Tryk på den igen for at slå lyden til.

Hold funktion

Under et aktivt opkald skal du trykke på Holde button to place the call on hold. Press the flashing line button or the Holde button again to retrieve the call.

Conference Calls (3-Way)

1. Tryk på under et aktivt opkald Konference button (or a softkey labeled Konf). The first call will be placed on hold.
2. Dial the number of the second party.
3. Når den anden part svarer, skal du trykke på Konference button again to join all three parties.

Vis nummer

The phone's display will show the incoming caller's number and name (if available) for incoming calls.

Flerlinjeoperation

The Avaya 1408 supports multiline operation, allowing you to manage multiple calls simultaneously using the dedicated line buttons on the phone.

Digital Answering System / Voicemail

The phone features a digital answering system with a recording capacity of up to 18 minutes. Access voicemail by pressing the Besked button or following your system administrator's instructions.

Opretholdelse

Rengøring af telefonen

• Disconnect the phone from its power source before cleaning.
• Brug en blød, damp cloth to wipe the phone's surface.
• Brug ikke slibende rengøringsmidler, opløsningsmidler eller stærke kemikalier, da disse kan beskadige plastmaterialet.
• Avoid spraying liquids directly onto the phone.

Almen pleje

• Hold telefonen væk fra overdreven varme, direkte sollys og fugt.

Fejlfinding

No Dial Tone / Phone Not Powering On

• Tjek strøm: Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to a PoE-enabled port or that the external power adapter (if used) is properly connected and plugged into a working outlet.
• Kabelforbindelse: Verify that all cables (handset, Ethernet) are firmly plugged into their respective ports.
• Netværksstatus: Confirm that your network connection is active and functioning.

Cannot Hear or Be Heard During a Call

• Lydstyrkejustering: Juster lydstyrken ved hjælp af Bind knapper.
• Mute-funktion: Tjek om Stum button is active (often indicated by an LED). Press it to unmute.
• Håndsætforbindelse: Ensure the handset cord is securely connected to both the handset and the phone base.

Visningsproblemer

• Power Cycle: Afbryd og tilslut strømmen til telefonen igen.
• Kontrast: Some models may have display contrast settings in the menu. Consult your system administrator if issues persist.
