1. Introduktion

The Yamaha PR7 is a compact and versatile pocket recorder designed for high-quality audio capture. 2. Opsætning

2.1 Strømforsyning

The PR7 operates on a single AAA battery. Ensure the battery is inserted with the correct polarity as indicated inside the battery compartment. A fresh AAA battery provides approximately 29.5 hours of continuous operation.

2.2 Installation af hukommelseskort

The PR7 records to a MicroSD card. Locate the MicroSD card slot, typically on the side or bottom of the device. Insert the card gently until it clicks into place. The device supports memory storage capacities up to 2 GB as per specifications.

To power on the device, slide the power switch to the 'ON' position. To power off, slide it to 'OFF'.

3.2 Using the Crossed XY Stereo Microphone

The PR7 features a built-in crossed XY stereo microphone configuration, designed to capture a wide and natural stereo sound field. Position the recorder appropriately to optimize sound capture from your desired source.

3.3 Mic / Line Input

An external 3.5mm Mic/Line Input jack is provided for connecting external microphones or line-level audio sources. This allows for greater flexibility in recording setups.

3.4 Headphones Jack

Connect headphones to the 3.5mm headphones jack to monitor your recordings in real-time or during playback. Adjust the volume using the dedicated controls.

3.5 HPF and Dynamics Control

The PR7 includes a High-Pass Filter (HPF) to reduce unwanted low-frequency noise (e.g., wind noise, handling noise) and Dynamics Control to manage the dynamic range of your recordings. Refer to the on-screen menu for adjusting these settings to suit your recording environment.

4. Easy Overdubbing

The overdubbing function allows you to record new audio tracks over existing ones. This is particularly useful for musicians layering instruments or vocals. To use overdubbing:

1. Record your initial track.
2. Select the overdub mode from the menu.
3. Play back the existing track while recording your new performance. The PR7 will combine the new audio with the original.
4. Ensure input levels are set correctly to avoid distortion or an unbalanced mix.
